About BDRP

“Our Goal” is to assist Small and Local Disadvantaged Businesses including Minority Business Enterprises (MBE), Disadvantage Business Enterprises (DBE), and Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) businesses to be competitive and effective in securing contracts with Prince George’s County Government.

Our focus is to enhance the County’s growth through new revenue streams provided by local small businesses.

The BDRP is comprised of a cadre of experts within the commercial and federal contracting sectors.

The team of experts that provide support to the BDRP, come from the commercial and federal contracting sectors and are firmly committed to the program’s participants meeting and or exceeding expectations.

The Program is comprised of:

  1. Competitive Bidding Process
  2. Identification of Procurement Opportunities
  3. Contracting Agency Reserve Program
  4. Mentoring/Business Counseling

“A strong Local Small Minority Business Enterprise (LSMBE) Program allows Prince George’s County to continue our commitment to economic development by increasing economic opportunities for LSMBEs” –Rushern L. Baker III, County Executive.

The Business Development Reserve Program Jobs First Act-CB17 legislation which aims to stimulate economic development and local employment.

This program will assist Prince George’s County in developing long term relationships with LSMBEs resulting in a procurement environment that is competitive, inclusive and produces more innovative solutions now and in the future.

Additional benefits include:

  • Providing bidding preferences and participant requirements to local small businesses
  • Giving priority status to BDRP participants in Minority Business Enterprise goals for minority contracting and purchasing
  • Developing processes for BDRP participants designed to lead to subcontracting opportunities for specific contracts in Prince George’s County
